The Founding Smooth Operators

BASALT WORKS is a family owned business founded by sisters Teresa Gitomer and Pam Dalton and assisted by sister Linda Chertudi and niece Erika Trueax.

Pam lives in Dallas, Oregon on property that has been in the family for six generations. Her husband, who shares the same philosophy of “keeping it in the family”, is co-owner of a rock quarry (www.daltonrock.com) with his brother that has been in his family for four generations.  It is in this quarry that the basalt stones are extracted and where the idea of BASALT WORKS was founded.

Pam always thought that the beautiful, sparkling crystals left from the rock crusher should be used for something besides paving a road. Teresa, a spa aficionado, thought a spa is where “the rocks” could be used.  With the assistance of chemist and numerous “basalt batches”, the outcome was BASALT WORKS.

Today Teresa oversees the company with Pam, who is hands on at the quarry, offers her sisterly advise. Erika is in sales while Linda is “behind the scenes” though you see all four - hard hats and all - as a family act at beauty and spa shows nationwide.
